Words + Wine
A journalist of 10 years’ experience and former sommelier, I am a freelance writer and event producer currently working for an English sparkling wine brand in West Sussex.
During my eight years at British Esquire, I became a commissioning editor and in-house food and drink editor, sparking my interest in the stories and people behind wine. I was nominated as ‘Best Consumer Writer’ at the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards in 2019 and have also written for Harper’s Bazaar, Tatler, The Spectator and The World’s Best Vineyards. My portfolio includes features, interviews, reviews and round-ups across art, culture and entertainment but it was my excitement for wine that led me to take my WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and move in to the heady world of hospitality.
My time at Noble Rot in Bloomsbury took me through my WSET Level 3 Award in Wines but, more than that, taught me to talk about every sort of wine to every sort of person - from experts to novices, trade professionals to tourists, old, young, curious or dead set in their ways. And there were some rather fun bottles to try along the way...
